I’ve been getting my lashes done for months. I was going to another lash spa on the Hamilton mountain, but could never get an appointment time that worked for me. Ended up having to search for a new lash tech and I stumbled across Bee Fab Lash Spa, and read a few awesome reviews about Bianca and her lash expertise. EYELASH EXTENSIONS are the ultimate beauty tool. Effortlessly gorgeous lashes from the moment you wake up! Our Bee Fab lash technicians have answered some of our most frequently asked questions when it comes to lashes!
“Can I wear eye makeup to my lash extension appointment?”
Nope! Please come without any makeup or residue of makeup around the eye area. This includes eyeliner, concealer, eyeshadow and eye cream. Anything on your lids or lashes could have a reactive effect, or not allow the extensions to adhere properly, therefore causing the extensions to fall out faster than expected. Don’t even curl them! You do not want to waste your treatment time!
“Do eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?”
There is a myth that eyelash extensions may ruin your natural lashes. However, when lashes are professionally applied using high quality glue, products and the client continues to look after them, there will be no damage.
“Can I swim or shower with my eyelash extensions?”
You can, at least 24 hours after your appointment. It’s super important that you’re gentle with your lashes and make sure that no water touches them during this time. Swimmers, gym and spa goers may find infills are needed sooner than others due to the lashes getting wet more often.
“Can you wear eye makeup with eyelash extensions?”
We do not recommend using mascara with lash extensions. Why? Because when you attempt to take it off at the end of the day, you can actually cause your extensions to break from the friction and makeup remover. Russian volume lashes are hand-made lash fans, therefore, eye makeup will close the fan and look like an individual hair.
“If I do wear eye makeup, how shall I remove it?”
We recommend oil free micellar water or professional lash cleanser. Gently swipe downward with a lash brush rather than back and forth to get your lids and lashes clean. And whatever you do, avoid rubbing or tugging at your eyes.
“Can you wash your eyes with eyelash extensions?”
Yes, but only use a lash cleanser that is recommended by your eyelash extension technician. Other products may contain ingredients that can weaken the bond of your lash extensions and cause them to shed prematurely.
“Should you brush your lash extensions?”
Lashes can get tangled when you’re sleeping or showering, so it’s required that you gently brush your lashes with a clean ‘spoolie’ brush when you wake up, after you shower (dry lashes first) and at the end of the day. To prevent unnecessary tangling, try to sleep on your back or side (not your stomach).
We recommend a silk pillow case too!
“How do you know what size eyelash extensions to get?“So you want Kim Kardashian level lashes? Great – but that doesn’t mean your eyes can handle them. The type of lashes you can apply all depends on the length and strength of your natural lashes. Wearing lashes that are too long or too thick for your lashes can actually cause damage in the long run, so you need to make sure your extensions aren’t too much longer or thicker than your natural lashes.
Mega Volume Lash Extensions – These lashes originated in Russia and has recently made a breakthrough in the US and Europe. This is a precise, handmade lash application technique. Several very thin separate extensions are picked manually, created into a lash fan and wrapped around the natural lash to ensure a very strong and long-lasting bond. The Russian Volume technique allows us to increase the number of eyelashes you have naturally and helps us to achieve a fuller, denser and fluffier lash-line. .
“What is our lash cycle?”-We lose 1-5 lashes a day and on average, a person can lose up to 20% of their natural lashes every two weeks. Natural eyelashes grow in and fall out in cycles, which occurs every 60 to 90 days. A new eyelash has already been growing to replace the lash that falls out and for most of us, we don’t even notice.
If you have ever noticed how your hair sheds more during certain seasons, you’re not alone! This is called “seasonal shedding” and it’s completely natural for lash and head hair!
“What is a Lash lift and tint?”
Lash lifts are a great natural alternative to extensions. Your lash technician will determine the curl by looking at the space you have between eye lid and brow bone. A shield is then placed on your eyelid, your lashes are carefully glued to the shield and set.
You will not need to use lash curlers however you may still want to wear mascara after 2 days if you want to have texture to the hair. Lash lifts lasts 6-8 weeks with no maintenance!
“How do I know what I want?” Do not worry – this can all sound too confusing! On your initial full set appointment or patch test if you require one, the lash tech will examine your natural lashes, eye shape and determine what look you are trying to achieve.

“Am I a good candidate for Diolaze laser hair removal?”
The Diolaze can be used on dark and stubborn hair for all skin types up to VI. If you have unwanted hair on your face or body and have avoided tanning for the weeks up to your appointment you are a good candidate for the Diolaze. We do not recommend laser hair removal for pregnant or nursing women.

“How does laser hair removal with DiolazeXL work?”
The Diode laser works by targeting the hair follicle with a laser beam and destroying it so it can no longer grow hair. By targeting the root of the hair, you get long-term hair removal - unlike the short-term removal that comes with shaving or waxing.
“Does laser hair removal with Diolaze XL hurt?”
The treatment is quick and painless thanks to the advanced technology used in the Diolaze. Its large spot size makes it the fastest laser hair removal treatment on the market and thanks to its triple cooling technology, it's virtually painless.
“How many treatments of laser hair removal are needed to see results?”
While you'll start to see results after just one session, a clinical study found that the Diolaze provided sustained results for up to a year after the 4th treatment given 4-6 weeks apart. Full results are seen after 6-8 sessions given 4-6 weeks apart.
“Are there any side effects or downtime to permanent hair removal?”
After a Diolaze XL treatment session, you might experience some redness and slight swelling on the treated area. This is entirely normal and should disappear within 2 days. You should avoid shaving, tweezing, plucking, or waxing hair after the treatment, as well as before it.
